BONNY LIGHT HORSEMAN'S THIRD ALBUM RELEASED
Bonny Light Horseman have released their third album, 'Keep Me on Your Mind / See You Free'. Written over the course of five months in 2023, it was recorded partly at Levi's Corner House; a tiny, beautiful century-old watering hole in Ballydehob, Ireland; and partly at the band's spiritual home, Dreamland Recording Studios, where their first two albums were made. NEW SINGLE + ALBUM ANNOUNCE
Anais' first solo studio album in over a decade will be released January 28th 2022. The self-titled album was produced by Josh Kaufman (of Bonny Light Horseman) and it features other core players including Michael Lewis, JT Bates, Thomas Bartlett and Aaron Dessner. Headlining US Tour 2022
Anaïs will be on tour in January and February 2022. She'll be performing with a band (including JT Bates on drums and Michael Lewis on bass), and will play brand new music alongside older favourites. Bonny Light Horseman will open! All dates in the Tour section.
ANAIS FEATURED ON BIG RED MACHINE ALBUM
Anais co-wrote and features on three songs on Big Red Machine's album "How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last?". Big Red Machine is comprised of Aaron Dessner (The National) and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), and the album also includes features by Fleet Foxes, Taylor Swift, Ben Howard, Lisa Hannigan and Sharon Van Etten.

ANAÏS NAMED TO THE TIME100 LIST

PLUME / PENGUIN TO PUBLISH ANAIS' BOOK ON 6th OCTOBER
'Working on a Song', Anais' book about the writing - and rewriting - of the lyrics of Hadestown will be published by Plume on October 6th 2020. Anais describes the work of writing the lyrics as "a mysterious dozen year process I still don't understand". The book takes readers inside Anais' journey, sharing anecdotes and stories, and breaking down the lyrics; and we're honored that Steve Earle has written the foreword.
HADESTOWN STAGE LICENSING RIGHTS ACQUIRED BY CONCORD THEATRICALS
We're excited to announce that Concord Theatricals will be handling worldwide stage licensing rights for Hadestown. The show began as a small-town DIY community theater project, and we're thrilled for it to return to people-powered theatres all over the world in future. A licensing timeline will be announced at a later date.

HADESTOWN WINS A GRAMMY
Hadestown won the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album at last night's ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. We are thrilled and honoured. Anaïs finished up her speech by quoting some long-lost lyrics that never made it into the show: “Orpheus was a poor boy but he had a gift to give us / there was one song he was working on he could never seem to finish / a song about this broken world, that he rewrote again and again / as though if he could find the words, he could fix the world with them.”
ANAIS' FOLK BAND BONNY LIGHT HORSEMAN ANNOUNCE ALBUM, TOUR
The debut album of Bonny Light Horseman, the band featuring Anaïs, Eric D. Johnson (Fruit Bats) and Josh Kaufman, will be released on the 37d30d label on January 24th 2020. It's available to pre-order on limited edition blue vinyl, standard black vinyl, and CD, from the band's shop. The band also announced new track 'Deep in Love', as well as an early 2020 tour.
8 TONY AWARDS FOR HADESTOWN!
We are over the moon that Hadestown won 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical at the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall, New York, on June 9th 2019. The other awards were: Best Score (Anais Mitchell), Best Direction (Rachel Chavkin), Best Featured Actor (Andre de Shields), Best Orchestrations, (Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose) Best Scenic Design (Rachel Hauck), Best Lighting Design (Bradley King) and Best Sound Design (Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz).

SPECIAL ONE-OFF CONCERT AT LONDON'S NATIONAL THEATRE
Anais will play a special one-off gig at the National Theatre on October 28th at 8pm, just a few days before her Hadestown musical begins its run there. It will be her only concert this year, as she’ll be hunkered down in London to prepare for the show’s opening. For the gig, she’ll be accompanied by Hadestown Orchestrator/Arrangers Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose (guitar; upright bass), and Musical Director/Vocal Arranger Robinson (piano). The gig will be ‘in the round’ at the Dorfman theatre, so some seating will be behind the stage, some at the side, and some at the front, with tickets priced to reflect this. Tickets will be limited to two per transaction, and are on sale now.

NEW TOUR DATES JUST ANNOUNCED
Anais will be playing a handful of shows around the North East and Colorado over the coming weeks. At the end of March, she'll play two shows at New York's Iridium as part of their celebration of Women's History Month. She'll then perform at Petit Campus (Montreal), Chandler Arts (Randolph VT) with Sam Amidon, and then open for Patty Griffin at her Austin City Limits show on April 8th.
